Our next Business Meeting is Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 6:30 PM in person and on Zoom.

We will be treated with Ray Michaud's Hispanic Shepard's' Pie, salad by Tom Gravelin, and dessert by Mike Bullock at 5:30 PM.

We will conduct the Exemplification of Charity, Unity and Fraternity during the business meeting for Mike Pasqual and Jim Clark.

Our Worthy Agent David Giuliani will be here to provide an enumeration of membership benefits, insurance and investment opportunities.

Dcn Patrick Leduc is going to present a homily on Advent to guide us on our spiritual journey.

On Sunday, DEC 15 from 1 to 3 PM is our Special People's Party. Let's discuss any last minute planning or support requirements to ensure a successful event. We have one warning tonight regarding the acknowledgment that we are a "geriatric " Councill and should consider adding great-grandchildren to the eligible applicants for the Archie Myers Memorial Scholarship.

Our Lenten Fish Fry initiative is still being explored. We have an estimate of investment cost of $5,000. We will break this down and discuss our options. Then we will vote at our next meeting.

Shall the Council make an eligibility change to the Archie Myers Scholarship Program?

At the last officer meeting a motion was approved to petition the Council to add great-grandchildren to the list of eligible applicants for the Archie Myers Scholarship. The program currently requires the applicant to be a son or daughter, grandson or granddaughter of a member in good standing. Owing to the advance ages of our members it was recommended we include great-grandsons and great granddaughters.

Prayer for Canonization of Blessed Michael McGivney

God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Blessed Michael McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue, may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify Blessed Michael McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I now present (our sick or in distress). Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
