Worthy Officers, Brothers, and Sir Knights, |
| |
This month I would like to invite each of you to attend Cor Formation. Cor Formation is a Knights of Columbus initiative exclusively for men that seeks to “bind the hearts of men to the Sacred Heat of Jesus thru the Immaculate Heart of Mary to loosen the bonds of secularism and self-indulgence that captivate us today.” “The goal is a Christ-Centered brotherhood sharpened in faith and virtue, able to lead their families, strengthen their parish community and evangelize the world as a disciple of Christ.” Cor Formation is not a meeting or a program;” it is a gathering not unlike the gathering of the apostles after the Resurrection. A gathering of men perhaps anxious about what to do. Men whose faith has been shaken. Men with doubts. Men with questions. We must be reminded often of what we believe and what we are called to do.
"The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone" (Ps 118:22).
“Thomas, called the Twin, who was one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.25 So the other disciples said to him, 'We have seen the Lord,' but he answered, 'Unless I can see the holes that the nails made in his hands and can put my finger into the holes they made, and unless I can put my hand into his side, I refuse to believe.'26 Eight days later the disciples were in the house again and Thomas was with them. The doors were closed, but Jesus came in and stood among them. 'Peace be with you,' he said.27 Then he spoke to Thomas, 'Put your finger here; look, here are my hands. Give me your hand; put it into my side. Do not be unbelieving any more but believe.'28 Thomas replied, 'My Lord and my God!'29 Jesus said to him: You believe because you can see me. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe.” (Joh 20:24-29)
“For where two or three meet in my name, I am there among them.” (Mat 18:20)
Cor Formation is held on third Saturdays at 10 AM in the basement of St John Vianney Church in South Burlington, VT. Donuts and coffee are provided. The next one is May 17th. Please join us for an opportunity to gather with the Risen Christ, to put your fingers into the nail marks, and place your hand into His side. To dispel your doubts and proclaim, “My Lord and My God.”
Vivat Jesus! |

Pentecost Rosary
There will be a Pentecost Rosary recited at St. John Vianney on June 8 at 1:30PM. In celebration of Pentecost, this rosary will feature each decade recited in a different language just as the apostles spoke in different languages on the very first Pentecost. So far, the languages lined up include French, Spanish, Polish and English. At least three of these languages will be led by members of our council. We are still looking for one more language. All members are invited, especially if you know your rosary prayers in one of these languages. This is open to Catholics from other parishes so please invite your friends, neighbors and extended family members. If you know of other Catholics fluent in a fifth language, please let Ray Michaud (802) 233-0146 or Fr. Tim know. The council will be providing a cake to be served afterwards. |
