Our next Business Meeting is Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 6:30 PM in person and on Zoom.

Dinner at 5:30 PM will be pizza and salad. You may opt to attend the Feast of the Assumption vigil Mass at SJV at 5:30. (You can still eat during the meeting)

We will have an Exemplification of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity for Ed Precourt from St Catherine of Siena.

There is one Warning this month. Whether or not to incentivize organizations or individuals who recruit new active members to our council.

On behalf of the June Knights of the Month Jay Benson and Mike Audette, St Catherine of Siena will receive $100.

On behalf of the June Family of the Month, Ted and Kathy Barrett, Starksboro First Response received $100.

St Jude parish BBQ AUG 23 at 5:30 PM. Set up at 3 PM and we need help with cooking, serving and clean-up. (Grills and foul weather tents for cooking)

The August 24 BBQ and State Officer Installation at St Anne’s Shrine. All are welcome.

There will be Council Bingo again on August 21^st.

Cor Formation meets again on Monday August 25 at 6:30 PM. We are all called to be students and evangelists of the Word.

We have one warning: Incentivized membership recruitment

We need to plan an Officer Installation.

The Audit is complete.

Next Holy Hour is SEP 5 at 3 PM. Come help us by leading a decade of the Rosary.

OLMC Sign painting. Bill Kaigle of Ye Olde Sign Shop in Milton has been retained to complete the renovation of the Church sign and provide a temp sign during repairs.

The K of C stone installation needs a bid for completion.

Will the Council incentivize organizations like FOCUS by increasing donations for members?

In cases where an organization or its members , i.e. Julie Sulva at FOCUS recruit for us new active members, will the council commit to increasing our support to that organization or individual? The organization could be a parish or another charity that regularly has contact with young adult Catholic men who may be candidates for the Knights of Columbus.

For the repose of the souls of Darla Rooney and Gilberte Myers, wives of our brothers Wally Rooney and the late Archie Myers. I mention Rene Kirby as well, a local Icon and inspirational member of the disabled in our community. As far as I know he never felt sorry for himself, making the best use of his abilities and gifts. He was an actor, appearing in the movie “Shallow Hal”. It was my pleasure to meet him in person on a business matter several years ago. For all the faithfully departed and their grieving families. May they rest in peace and may all the families of the deceased be comforted by the promise of everlasting life in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Prayer for Canonization of Blessed Michael McGivney

God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Blessed Michael McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue, may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify Blessed Michael McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I now present (our sick or in distress). Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
