Council 7525 Meeting Minutes

Mar. 11, 2021 

1. Call to Order: 7 PM by GK Mike Bullock (17 Brother Knights were in attendance) 2. Opening Prayer: Our Lord’s Prayer led by GK Mike Bullock 

3. Pledge of Allegiance (USA) or Patriotic Display of Loyalty: Pledge recited by all  members. 

4. Approve Minutes of Prior Meeting: Approved by all members present. 5. Chaplain's Message: Not in attendance 

6. Grand Knight's Report 

Vermont K of C Membership Video has been completed. The YouTube link to  There is a Place for You was provided to all members via the monthly  newsletter. All those that viewed the video were impressed with its quality and  message. Share it in your emails and send to prospects.

The council now has control of the website. A website committee consisting has  been formed to define the purpose and content of the site. Website committee  members are Ray Michaud, Tom Gravelin (Chair), Mike Bullock, Tom Buzzell  and Rick Gravelin. Once created, the plan will be presented to the council for  review and comment. Bro. Tom Gravelin will begin the process by preparing a  budget for sustaining and updating the website. 

Automatic payment to the USPO has been implemented for the council PO Box.  Payment will be made via the council's debit/credit card. 

GK strongly suggests that all 1st and 2nd degree members attain their 3rd degree  by visiting the Supreme website. Go to https://kofc.org/ceremonials (Click on  “Online Exemplification”, click on “English Invitation”) 

The Msgr. Thomas Ball Golf Tournament is set for May 15 at the West Bolton  Country club. To date, 12 teams have been fielded. Please Contact Bro. Brad  Chenette (238-1257) if you would like to participate. 

The state convention will be held virtually (Zoom meeting) on May 1st.  Delegates and Alternates will be elected as part of New Business. 

GK asked that the gift packages for winners of Knight/Family of the Month be  ordered so members can be recognized/thanked. FS stated he would be  placing the order.

7. Financial Report 

Checking Acct. 

Debit Expenses: $1,491.45 (Golf Tour. Fee, Liability Ins., 4th degree transfer,  Coats for Kids) 

Credits: $1,230.00 (dues) 

Ending Balance: $33,449.88 

Investment Account Balance: $474,641.93 

8. Membership Report 

Council has received notification of two new members (Kevin Limoge (from St.  Mark's Parish) and Mike Gervia) interested in joining 7525. Officers need to  vote to accept new members. Membership committee to follow-up. Kevin is a  friend of Brother David Bullock and Mike is the son-in-law of Brother Howard  Kalter.  

9. Other Reports 

 SuperBingo Committee 

▪ Met with Double Tree Convention Center and set a date of April 24, 2022 for the  next Camp TKT super bingo. 

▪ Ten local artisans have shown interest in providing items for the silent auction. ▪ Donations from businesses are doing well. Several gift certificates/coupons  have already arrived through the council PO Box. 

▪ Post cards will be going out soon. 

▪ Irene and Lois have been doing a lot of work on this event.  

▪ GK asked if a letter to each DD would go out requesting donations for theme  packages (fishing, hunting, camping). Bro. Tom stated he would need contact  info for each of the DD's. GK will provide the name and addresses.

 Scholarships 

Bro. Tom Buzzell reiterated that the council has 3 scholarships available to a  son/daughter of a brother knight in good standing order. The Archie Myers  Memorial Scholarship Fund is available to the applicant who has

matriculated to an accredited college/university. If no son/daughter applies,  then a grandchild will be considered. The one-time scholarship amount is  $1,500.00 to be split between the winning entrants. A notice to all local  schools of this scholarship will be sent shortly. Brother Tom is also open to  any other brother knight joining the scholarship committee. (GK mentioned  that the State Council also has five one thousand dollar scholarships 

available, but the application was due on March 10th

 State Deputy Report 

Attended as a member only but reminded the council that Program Reports  must be submitted and that delegates to the State Convention must be in by  March 15th

10.Unfinished Business (motions carried over from previous meetings)  

▪ A committee to review/update the council by-laws has been established and will  recommend revisions in the coming months.  

▪ Four Keep Christ in Christmas posters have been ordered. Bro. Jay Benson will  mount the posters once received. 

11.New Business (new motions) 

◦ Unanimous election of delegates to the state convention are as follows. ▪ Delegates: DGK Dave Martin, PGK Tom Gravelin 

▪ Alternates: PGK Ray Michaud, PGK/FS Charlie Brown 

GK stated that Fr. Naples has granted permission for us to meet in the SJV  Basement again beginning in April. The officers voted at their March meeting to  meet in person on April 8th at 6:30 PM. Discussion about having an in-person  business meeting ensued. Given the low number of members meeting remotely, a  decision was made to also meet in person for that meeting (April 15th at 7 PM). It  was also suggested that the council order pizzas for the next officer and business  meetings beginning an hour before each begins. The council will continue to  observe current COVID protocols. GK to explore keeping Zoom as an option for  out-of-state members, or members who cannot attend in person.

◦ Bro. Bernie Prendergast offered a reflection on St. Patrick (shamrock represents  the Holy Trinity) and concluded with a moving a cappella rendition of “Count Your  Blessings”. 

14. Grand Knight’s Summary 

◦ Reminder to send in reports on Programs and RTL activities to Ted Barrett. 

◦ Please keep your Brother Knights in your prayers who are isolated by COVID-19.  Reach out to assist where needed. If you need something, call one of us, or call  the office (802) 497-0152. 

◦ Continue to observe COVID protocols wherever you go. 

◦ Get a vaccine as soon as possible.
