Worthy Officers, Brothers, and Sir Knights,

The highlight of our August ministries was by far the Summer “Beach Boys” Party for people with Intellectual Disabilities. Many thanks to Ted and Kathy Barrett for organizing, setting up, inviting and provisioning the event. I would like to thank Dick and Sandy Stevens for getting and managing the food donations. Thanks to all of the brothers for helping out, too. The Gravelin Brothers Band was a hit once again, even though I did not hear any "Beach Boys" tunes. The crowd did not seem to notice! I know my sister Jane is already looking forward to the Christmas Party in December.

We have a significant number of events coming up this month and next. We have an opportunity to serve in support of Right to Life and Birthright. We will be starting up our Council Bingo again. We have a farewell Mass and Reception for our beloved Bishop Coyne. The Anchor Award Banquet is back in South Burlington to honor Msgr Peter Routhier. We have our Day of Prayer for Clergy in November. We need your help to support these worthwhile events and your participation is greatly encouraged and appreciated!

October will be the first COR Formation for the men in our parishes. This opportunity for fellowship, prayer and faith formation will take place on the third Saturday of every month at 1000 beginning on October 21st. This is a new outreach for the Knights of Columbus into our parishes to evangelize and bring us all closer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Cor (Latin for heart) was instituted by Supreme to bring us back to the most important goal of our Founder, Blessed Rev. Michael McGivney, the salvation of all souls. I hope you will join us for an experience of prayer and a deepening of your faith in fraternity with your brothers. Keep in mind that “where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them. – Matthew 18:20

Vivat Jesus!

CHAPLIAN'S BLOG
Jesus is Lord, Messiah, and Savior!

Dear Brother Knights,

1. My YouTube channel has the next Reflection on the Eucharist: Credo of the People of God. An exposition on the 1968 Credo of the People of God wherein Pope Paul VI introduces “transubstantiation” as the essential Eucharistic dogma upon which the Nicene Creed must be understood.  https://youtu.be/pf357kVc7js

2. Renewed call for involvement in the National Eucharistic Revival

Not all Eucharistic traditions are self-explanatory! We hope that the videos and resources on the Supreme website are an effective aid for Eucharistic devotion. Is there adoration at your parish church? My Eucharistic Reflection holy hour booklet is available on my blog.

3. Aid and Support After Pregnancy, State Council

A $400 check was delivered to Aspire Now in Williston, the maximum match in ASAP funds from fundraising by the state council. Prior to our 2023 State Convention, and by collections and fundraisers at the convention, more than $2,000 was collected for Aspire Now Pregnancy Resource Center. The 20% match was delivered by me in August.

God bless you all!

Vivat Jesus!

Fr. Timothy Naples, State and Council 7525 Chaplain

More opportunities...

There are many opportunities to serve!

Your council will soon bring back monthly Bingo at St. John Vianney Parrish Hall. We are going to need you all to commit to supporting this every month. The more volunteers, the lighter the load.

Brothers we need you to help set-up, cook and serve, and clean up for the Annual Right to Life Dinner on SEP 23rd.

In addition to prayer we have Knights in need of visitation. Don Sutton is still at Villa Rehab on 7 Forest Hill Drive in ST. Albans, VT. He is in Room 9. He is sad and lonely. You can call (802) 524-3498, hit 0 and they can ring his room. His direct number is (802) 527-2714. His former roommate, Bill Curtin, is now on the third floor. Don loves to play cribbage. George Stevens is still at the Burlington Health and Rehab, 300 Pearl St., now in Room 511. I'm told George is wide awake in the early morning. Bob Wilkens is back at Elderwood Rehab in the New North End. Room 62A. At Harbor View you can still visit Bev Newman, Ray's widow in Room 306.

Note: if you would like a visitation, please call us!

Check the Save the Date section for other events.

If none of these interest you, ask us how you can help-we have more ideas. We want to hear your ideas too on how to pay forward our many blessings.
