Subject: Invitation to Lenten Parish Staff/Volunteer Retreats

Good morning!

This is just a reminder about the upcoming Parish Lenten Retreats happening throughout the month of March.  There will be three opportunities to attend, two in person, and one virtual.  The theme this year will be "Communion with God in the Desert," and will be led by Fr. Rijo Johnson, S.D.V, pastor of Mater Dei Parish in Newport.  It promises to be a rich day of prayer, reflection, and communion, with both each other and our Lord.

These events are FREE, and are open to anyone who works, volunteers, or participates in any capacity in a parish or diocesan ministry.  However, registration is required.  The deadline to register is Friday, March 11th.  Lunch will be provided.  If you have already registered, I apologize for the repeat email, but please feel free to share this information with anybody else you may know that works or volunteers in your parish.

Attached you will find a video from Fr. Rijo inviting you to the retreat.  In addition, you'll also find a document with information on the locations, times, and schedule for the events.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Prayer for Canonization of Blessed Michael McGivney

God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Blessed Michael McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue, may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify Blessed Michael McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I now present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
